Editorial policy

Providers cannot buy a better entry. Commission, where we earn it, never changes what the register records.

Independence

VPNInfobase editorial is an independent research publication. No provider owns, funds or reviews our pages before they go live. We do not accept payment, free accounts or other benefits in exchange for coverage, a changed record or a removed incident. Providers are welcome to send primary sources, like anyone else, through the contact page.

Affiliate policy

Some links are affiliate links. Today that is NordVPN only. Those links are marked sponsored, sit after the facts and never above them, and no ranking or score depends on them, because the register has neither. The register records the same fields for a provider that pays and one that does not. Details are on the affiliate disclosure. If we join another programme, that page and the affected links change the same day.

How pages are written

Answer first, evidence second, detail third. Key facts carry a source link and a checked date. Opinion is labelled as ours, and we write "not tested by us" where it applies. A vendor claim is never presented as our finding. See how we research.

Update cadence

  • Prices and refund terms: re-read every 90 days.
  • Ownership, audits and incidents: every 90 days, or sooner when news is published.
  • Guides: updated when a fact in them changes. A page only gets a new date when something was actually re-checked.

Corrections

If we get something wrong we fix it, change the date and record it on the corrections log. Substantive changes are dated, not silently overwritten. To report an error, use the contact page.

Authorship

Pages are published under the VPNInfobase editorial team. We do not use personal bylines or invented reviewer profiles.
