How to Set Up a VPN on Any Device

Windows

Visit the VPN provider's website and download the Windows app. Run the installer and open the app. Sign in with your account. Click Quick Connect to select the fastest available server automatically. A green connected indicator confirms the VPN is active. Enable the kill switch in settings before browsing.

Mac

Same process as Windows. On macOS you may be prompted to allow a network extension in System Preferences under Privacy and Security — approve it and enter your password. The VPN will not function until this permission is granted.

iPhone

Download from the App Store. On first launch you will be prompted to add a VPN configuration to iOS — tap Allow. This installs the required VPN profile. You can then connect from the app or from Settings under VPN.

Android

Download from Google Play. Grant VPN permission when prompted. For maximum protection go to Settings, then Network, then VPN, and enable Always-on VPN so it reconnects automatically after reboots.

Testing your connection

Visit ipleak.net or dnsleaktest.com with the VPN connected. If the page shows the VPN server's IP and location rather than your own, and no DNS leaks appear, your VPN is working correctly.
